Lupe Iule was taught how to make jewelry by her husband, Horace Iule in 1937. During her productive years, her artistic focus gravitated towards the powerful symbolism and elegant form of the cross. After Horace passed away, Lupe continued working independently until 1975, carrying on the style and quality that had made their work so admired. Her crosses were both spiritual symbols and works of art, blending Zuni craftsmanship with her own refinement. Her makers mark is L. Iule.
