Larry Moses Begay was born in 1969 in Lukachukai, Arizona. He began making jewelry in the 1980s. His mother, Rena Begay, was a well known weaver of rugs and blankets. His brother, Leroy Begay, also took up silversmithing. Larry’s style is recognizable by large cluster-style statement pieces. Larry says his inspiration for his pieces comes from the landmarks of the nation. He has a few maker’s marks, “LMB” “LMB Navajo” and “LB” accompanied by a running horse.
